Music Programming, 2021–2024
Between 2021 and 2023, I was immersed in Cape Town’s independent online radio ecosystem — a moment when community-run stations became vital sites for musical exchange, experimentation, and gathering. Broadcasting across platforms including The Other Radio, Lilies Radio, Hamshack Radio, and Nathan’s Room, these spaces shaped a generation of DJs, selectors, and listeners before many eventually closed due to financial precarity.
My radio work sits within that moment — not only as performance, but as programming: building sonic narratives, hosting guests, and contributing to a fragile but deeply generative cultural infrastructure. These projects remain as documentation of a formative independent ecosystem — one that shaped my ongoing practice as a music programmer and curator.

Ladybug Radio Sundays
Recurring live broadcasts — Lilies Radio (2021–2022)
Ladybug Radio was a flexible weekly broadcast hosted on Lilies Radio, produced remotely using a fully DIY setup. Across sixteen episodes, the show moved fluidly between disco, jazz, punk, experimental R&B, and many other genres. I hosted guest selectors, designed the visual identity and promotional materials, and approached each episode as a curated sonic narrative rather than a playlist, foregrounding musical exploration and independent voices.

GUSHER FM*
Cross-broadcasted on Hamshack, Lilies and The Other Radio from 2021 - 2022
GUSHER FM* reimagined traditional radio structures into a high-energy, periodical format focused exclusively on independent and emerging music, largely from South African artists. I designed and hosted the show, curated the playlists, and built each broadcast as a narrative-driven experience — structuring content, hosting guests, and engaging with a participatory audience. The show positioned independent voices within a larger cultural framework, demonstrating a methodical approach to music programming and sonic curation.

ZOLSNJOLS
Hamshack Radio from 2021 - 2022
Co-hosted with a close collaborator, Peter Matlowa—Zolsnjols explored South African jazz, archival house, nostalgic local recordings, and contemporary selections. The show functioned as both homage and excavation — revisiting formative sounds while situating them within present-day listening culture.

NATHAN’S ROOM
Guest Mixes (2023)
Guest appearances on Nathan’s Room placed me within a rotating roster of electronic selectors, contributing long-form mixes and participating in multi-DJ back-to-back sessions. These sets emphasized live energy, improvisation, and collective sequencing, extending my approach to programming into collaborative, performative spaces.
